I love my new Keurig Coffee Maker that I got for Christmas; it's perfect for making just one cup of a variety of coffees, teas, and even hot chocolate! It's the joy of my morning.

My Crocs are just awesome! I wear them all the time. The "Mammoth" (to the left) are sooooo cozy and warm!

So you're a college graduate?

I got a call from brother the other day and the conversation started with "OK, college graduate." I was a little worried and then he asked if I could help my 13 year old nephew with some math. Then I was really worried! He read the word problem to me and amazingly I thought I would be able to figure it out. The worst part was being able to explain how to do the problem over the phone (I need a webcam). We worked through it and he was able to understand how to do the problem.

The problem wasn't that difficult and it definitely doesn't take a college degree to be able to figure it out. See if you can!

A pitcher throws a ball at 55 mph and is 40 feet from home plate. When does the batter need to swing to hit the ball after it is thrown?

Aren't they cute?

This is my brother and my youngest nephew Josh. Aren't they cute? This picture was taken this summer at Bald Head Island, NC. We've been going to NC for family vacations for the last 11 years. It's really a good way to keep connected since my brother and his boys (4 sons; Brian -20, Nick-13, Jake-10, and Josh-4) live so far away (Augusta, GA). We love the beach, love Bald Head Island and love each other!

Hail to the Redskins!

What a game! We're on our way to Seattle and a Wildcard game. Who would have thought this could have happened?

I really recommend going to the Redskins website and listening to Joe Gibbs' press conference. He had some great things to say about the team and how they have pulled together since the death of Sean Taylor. Moreover, Joe also talks about how the tragedy made him think about about is important in life. He said that a relationship with the Lord is the most important and then a relationship with family.

The Tweedles are a Big Hit

The day finally came for Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dumb to join Miss Michelle and Mr. John in Bibleland! Mike and Will Jones were so much fun! We are using the "Alice in Wonderland" characters to tell the story of Jesus. This lesson was about Jesus' arrest and crucifixion. The Sad Hatter, Mr. John, is very sad about Jesus' death. The "Tweedles" show up and they are the guards that arrested Jesus. They tell the story of how Jesus was nailed to the cross to die for us and that they now love Jesus and have quit being guards. They have now started a new business; Tweedle Dee Dum Messenger Service! The kids had a great time, but I don't know who has more fun, the kids or the performers! These great costumes were created by Kari Patterson; she is awesome!



We also have two new helpers with our worship time. Sarah Leatherwood and Allison DiClaudio are our new additions to the team and have a great time on stage with Miss Michelle and Mr. John!

This week we are introducing another new character! Mark Petenbrink will be joining us in Bibleland as the While Rabbit! Stop in and see him. You won't be able to miss him. He'll have on the wild Hawaiian shirt!

My Dreams of Bibleland

We launched our new curriculum for the Spring in the KidPoint II class yesterday. The theme is Miss Michelle through the Looking Glass. Miss Michelle is traveling through the Looking Glass to Bibleland where she will meet characters who well tell her stories about Jesus and His life. We have based the characters on "Alice in Wonderland" Here Miss Michelle is meeting the "Sad Hatter". The Sad Hatter is always sad about something. This week he is sad because he doesn't understand why Jesus washed the disciples feet.

The team (Michelle P., Mark P., John P., Kari P. and me) have a great time working together in large group and putting together the lessons. What a talented and creative group of people. God has really blessed us with each other as well as a bunch more helpers in the class who also lend to a great time for both the kids and us!
