I think she missed me!

I know that those of you who read my blog regularly know that I don't post regularly and you probably are saying "2 blogs in one day; unbelievable!", but this was such a great picture of Wilma I wanted to share it. I took this after I had been away on vacation and for business and she was really lonely. Isn't she cute?

I love vacation!

This was my view from the hammock at our house at Bald Head Island where my family goes every year for vacation. When I took this picture, I was listening to Natalie Grant on my iPod and I was completely overwhelmed by God's majesty in His Creation! I was also reminded that when I am willing to be still and spend the time that my marvelous God is faithful to meet me in those moments. It is so hard during the hectic week with work, church, friends, and activities to carve out some quality time of any quanity to actually be still and listen to what God would say. I have tried to bring those moments on BHI back with me and even though the view isn't the same, our great God is the same and if we are still He will speak to us no matter where we happen to be!

New Careers?

I have discovered that I have some hidden talents which could lead to a possible new career.

During some problems with my cable reception on one of my TVs requiring 3 different cable guys coming to the house over a 3 week period, I had actually initially diagnosed the problem with reception as a cable box malfunction. Finally, the third guy agreed with me and changed out the box and the reception problem was solved!

While on vacation this week, my 4-year old nephew locked the bathroom door and closed it while outside. Everyone tried all types of pointed objects to open it, but then my 14-year old nephew suggested using a credit card. So, I got one from my wallet and was able to open the door.

I don't think that quitting my job and calling Comcast is a great idea and I'm pretty sure that the credit card trick could only get me into trouble, so I guess I'll need to keep looking for more hidden talents.

The Miraculous Feline Healing

As many of you know I had to put my cat, Kallie, down in March after she went into renal failure. I then became worried about my other cat, Wilma, so I took her to the vet for a check-up. Kallie is on the left and Wilma is on the right. Upon the results of her lab tests the vet diagnosed her with diabetes. I was really upset, but gave the whole situation to the Lord and jumped right in with becoming the kitty nurse and administering insulin to my cat. The first time I gave Wilma the injection I manged to stick myself first as well. I have to admit I became a little nervous at that point about how well this whole process was going to go.

Over the past few months, the insulin amount for Wilma has increased and then decreased and now Wilma is no longer receiving insulin injections and she is able to maintain a normal blood sugar level on her own. We have had to adjust the amount and type of her food (there is a lot of crying over the decrease in the amount), but she is doing just great! We are also working on getting some exercise, but from the looks of things the treadmill is not for Wilma!

Today I started a possible new vocation. I helped Rachel with highlighting her hair. It was fun and it turned out really well. Next time you see Rachel have a look at her beautiful hair and let me know if I should stop all this project management nonsense and go start to beauty school.

I love my new Keurig Coffee Maker that I got for Christmas; it's perfect for making just one cup of a variety of coffees, teas, and even hot chocolate! It's the joy of my morning.

My Crocs are just awesome! I wear them all the time. The "Mammoth" (to the left) are sooooo cozy and warm!

So you're a college graduate?

I got a call from brother the other day and the conversation started with "OK, college graduate." I was a little worried and then he asked if I could help my 13 year old nephew with some math. Then I was really worried! He read the word problem to me and amazingly I thought I would be able to figure it out. The worst part was being able to explain how to do the problem over the phone (I need a webcam). We worked through it and he was able to understand how to do the problem.

The problem wasn't that difficult and it definitely doesn't take a college degree to be able to figure it out. See if you can!
